Frequently Asked Questions
From TrackerProducts Wiki
Problem: I tried to duplicate an item, but now I have too many.
Solution: It’s a common mistake for users to accidentally duplicate an item too many times. Make sure you only duplicate an item once unless you want multiple copies.
See Duplicating Items for more information.
Problem: I created customizations, but they are not showing up in my desktop application.
Solution: Log into the browser-based web interface of the system as “admin” and go to “Custom Fields” on the Quick Menu. At the top of the “Custom Fields” screen is a button labeled “Update Mobile Devices.” Click this button to manually force an update of all the custom fields. When this is complete, re-synchronize the desktop application.
See System Customization for more information.
Problem: I continue to get an error on my Desktop Application.
Solution: Try closing the error and the program before reopening it. Restarting the application is usually a quick and easy fix to most problems.
See Desktop Application for more information.
Problem: Instead of temporary locations, I’d prefer to directly place an item into storage.
Solution: Tracker Support can flip a switch on the back side of the system to accommodate this need. Simply contact Tracker Support for help disabling the temporary storage.
See Temporary Items and Desktop Application for more information.
Problem: I accidentally entered an item into a case.
Solution: We cannot delete an item from a case because it would interfere with the numbering sequences and possibly disturb searching functionality. Instead, we suggest you dispose of that item with a notation that it was an accidental entry. Alternatively, you can call Tracker Support for help removing the entire case.
Contact Tracker Support through e-mail at support@trackerproducts.com or by calling 866-438-6565.

Solution: 1. Perform a software reset on the PDA by clicking the pin hole on the back of the device with your stylus.
2. Do NOT try to open Evidence Tracker software when the PDA resets.
3. Click File Explorer. If this isn’t on your Start menu, go to Start-Programs-File Explorer.
4. Hit the drop-down menu at the top of the File Explorer titled “My Documents.”
5. Select My Device-Program Files-PDA Tools.
6. Click and hold on the custom values file in this folder. A small menu will appear. Select “Delete”.
7. Soft reset the PDA again and re-synchronize the device.
