Temporary Items
>> Quick Menu > Check In Temp Item
When items are entered into the system, they are initially entered into a temporary holding area. The Check In Temporary Item button on the Quick Menu lists all items that are currently in temporary storage. These items are eligible for check in to a permanent location.
Note: Some customers may not want to use temporary locations. Instead, they prefer to place an item directly into storage. Contact Tracker Support and we can accommodate this need.
This screen shot shows a list of items that are currently in temporary storage. To check in these items, simply put a check in front of each item that you want to check in and click the Check In Selected Items button.
After clicking the Check in Selected Items button, you are redirected to a screen that shows if the items are available or eligible for check in. See the section on Item Locks for an explanation of items that are not available for check in.
The final screen will allow you to select a location for which you want to check in these items. Once the items are checked in, they are no longer listed in the temporary items area.
Check Items In or Out
>> Quick Menu > Change Custody
To check items in or out of the system, click the Change Custody icon on the Quick Menu. You will be asked to type in the Case # attached to the items for which you'd like to modify custody.
After typing in a valid Case #, you will be presented with a list of items in that Case grouped by their status. In this screen shot we see that this case has (4) temporary items, (11) checked in items and (4) checked out items.
To change the custody on any item, click the link group. You will be presented with options for changing custody.
Moving Items
>> Quick Menu > Change Custody
Moving an item is based on changing custody on an item as discussed in the last section. When you select items for check out, you will also be presented with an option to move those items.
Suggestion: A move transaction is typically performed on items that are moving from location to location within your property room. Typically items that are moving outside of your facility are check out transactions.
